Just read that "Threshold" is cancelled
Dammit! I really liked this show and wanted to see the storyline have a chance to develop further.

I just knew it! When they started yanking it around, dropping it into random time slots or just pulling it all together, the Writing Was On The Wall.
Grrrrr... I was waiting for another appearance from William "Ethan" Mapother again, too. I hate getting all of this set-up now to just never know what was going to happen! Grrrrr...

What she said.
Well, at least Supernatural is doing good. But STILL! I love Carla Gugino and she just can't seem to catch a break TV show-wise! *exasperated sigh*

I honestly don't know why the hell this show wasn't more popular (aside from it's shitty timeslot).
I thought it was excellent, almost on par with Lost in terms of mystery and suspense. Plus the cast was great (especially Peter Dinklage and Brent Spiner), and the show was genuinely scary at times (and it takes a LOT for TV to scare me).
I don't get how dreck like Surface and Invasion are huge hits and get picked up for full seasons and Threshold gets canned after just a couple of months!
At least half the people I know were watching this show and loving it and then it just gets cancelled out of the blue.

That was my first thought as well. I don't think I know ANYBODY who likes Surface and I think that just about anything could put up nice numbers when it's following a hit show like Lost as Invasion is (I tried watching it when it first came on and it just didn't hold my interest).
I think that Threshold was just one of those shows that, for some reason, some Higher Up wanted to kill. Did you notice the order of events?
Threshold and Close To Home swap spots. Close To Home, in Threshold's spot following Ghost Whisperer, gets higher numbers than it has before. Threshold gets pulled for 3 weeks, slapped into Close To Home's old slot for 1 showing and gets its lowest numbers ever. Well DUHHHH could it be the TIMESLOT, maybe? Did anybody once think that maybe Law and Order SVU sitting over on NBC at the same time MIGHT be the cause of ANY CBS show getting low numbers?
They just wanted to kill it and used that for an excuse. If that wasn't the case, they would've given it a few more weeks to try and build their audience again or they would've tried it in another spot. This was Show Execution, nothing more or less.
And I HATE it when they execute a show I like! I've had it happen to me sooooo many times and I just never can seem to get past the condescending attitude they dole out. So yes, that does make me feel a bit more tolerent of "salty" language.
