I know contest entries shouldn't really be longer than five minutes, but the song I'm using is about 5min 12sec long -- I was just wondering if that'd be alright? I'm not really one for cutting down songs, though I might end up cutting it down a little anyway.

Since this is a full ep contest, does anyone know where you can get full LOST eps in good quality online? All the sites I found are in avi and I dont know how to get them on vegas. I have all the dvds but the one ep I need is on the one DVD that wont work on any ripper.

All my Lost eps are in .avi, and they all work in Vegas. Do you have DivX? Because you need that to play .avi episodes in Windows Media Player, so you might need it to import to Vegas as well.

Jen, we're sorry to be a stickler for it but yes, the 5 minute maximum is a hard rule so you'll need to get your vid (including credits and everything) under 5 minutes.

Saben, I'm sorry to hear that .AVI is giving you a problem in Vegas. As long as you have the DivX codec, like Jaime mentioned, Vegas should let you import .AVI in just like it does .WMV or any other format. However, you may find that you'll only have video and no audio. That's just an unfortunate fact of life with Vegas.

If you need audio from the ep, if you can import the episode into Windows Movie Maker, you should be able to clip and render the scenes you need into .WMV, then import those into Vegas and take the audio off from them.

That's how I have to do all of my audio.

Anyway, hope you're able to get it all to work for you!

If this is the first time you're putting DivX on, then you'll probably want to disable the watermark that will pop up for a few seconds at the start when you render your vid. Here's the instruction on how, if you're interested!

Can I claim Something Nice Back Home please? I rather fancied 'I Do', but since that one's been snapped up, I thought I'd swoop in and go for my second favourite eppy. I hope I can find the time to enter this contest - It's so unusual. I've never done an episodic video before.
