Okay, I've got a question regarding the file size of videos. On your Submit section you say Most Important Rule: If you want us to host your vid, it MUST be 10MB or less! If you send me a file larger than 10MB it will not even be considered for the site! But I noticed that quite a few of the videos you host are larger than 10 MB. Some are around 12 or more. What's up with that? And how does a video get to be so large anyway? It obviously doesn't depend on the length of the video because some short videos like Save Me are less than a minute yet they are larger than a big portion of the longer videos. What's the deal? _________________ Lost - the show that got me hooked on creamy peanut butter.

You know, we should reword that a bit, but what its supposed to mean is a vid can't exceed 10MB if it's to be hosted on the site. If you are hosting it from your own source, it can be whatever size you wish. But keep in mind that some people might be put off by anything more than a 15-er or so. |

Ah, okay. I see. But how does a video get to be so large? Does it depend on the quality of the clips you are using? _________________ Lost - the show that got me hooked on creamy peanut butter.

well when using WMM, the vids usually come out to something like 40MB at least when they're saved at full size. Then you can either save a 10MB version by using WMM and the "email" option, or you can take that 40MB version and use some sort of compression software, like "Dr. Divx" to reduce it down to the base size. |

What does the "e-mail" option do? It doesn't reduce the quality of the video does it? _________________ Lost - the show that got me hooked on creamy peanut butter.
