I've got about three videos that have ads on cause they've been caught. And two that have been removed. Only had about three emails though

"Runaway Train" got zapped today.

They sent me the "you're gonna get an ad put on your vid" email but disabled the vid anyway!

It's so strange how it's like even YT has no idea what they're supposed to do!

well my vid lost what ive done was removed 4 days ago !!!now i have 11 vids gone !!!

I really hope so!!Because i am one step before to stop vidding!!Some people don't get it you do something because you like it you spend hours days for it !!and when you see your work is just copyright infreegment !!

Darn it! The song I was going to use for the February contest is by a band owned by WB. That stinks... reeeally stinks.

I'd self host it, or use z-share or something, but I get the feeling that most people won't bother to download and watch a video unless it's by a well known vidder or a friend. I'm so bummed that this is happening to everyone!!! =(

Is Imeem the one they were saying was just for indy film makers? Or was that Vimeo?

I also realized I can upload to my own web space, and I *think* I can embed there. I know there's a way to embed .wmv files in html, I've just never tried it. I just checked my bandwidth, and I have more than enough to cover it so hopefully that can be an option for me, too. Phew!

Oh definitely, Julia, don't let that stop you! We'll find a way to watch your vid so long as you can get it hosted somewhere!

(And you can always try YouTube, sometimes they don't catch it right away so you can get some time out of them before they nab it.

Just be sure to have a secondary link so that we'll be able to watch your vid after the contest deadline, just in case.

If you can't find any other place, then zshare, FileFront and 4shared all offer both streaming and downloading abilities, though albeit on a more temporary basis.

Imeem is still a good choice for streaming (so far), though some people have had issues with the audio and video being out of sync. I haven't tried the first link Nikki gave you yet so I don't know about personally but I know she and some of the others are getting use out of it.

Vimeo is the one who is quite anti-vidding, unfortunately.

So definitely just use whatever song you like and don't worry that people will be put out even if you can't get it hosted on YouTube. We're all being affected by this copyright violation thing, so I think there are very few people who wouldn't be sympathetic if YouTube gives you any grief over it. *hugs*
