Lost Video Island

I've always kind of thought that the things that happen on the island aren't always real. Or, that they are as the castaways perceive them to be. I hope y'all understand what I'm trying to say. That they see things that may or may not *really* be there. And it occured to me that the the way they open almost, if not all the episodes with someone's eye, might be a clue.

Or it's just a trademark of the show.

Not all episodes, but yes, many many many. It's a very good theory that they portray the things that happen on the island in two ways like that. They give a strange explanation (usually from the opinions of a character, like Locke) and the logical explanation, like that boar right there. Leaves the viewers to draw their own conclusions

That is a good theory.

My feeling is they all died. Even the characters understand that they survived a crash that was impossible for anyone to. I believe the island is the "Purgatory" where the characters we see are judged and sent to one of three places. Reincarnation, Heaven or Hell. Crazy I know, but if I don't see it this way too many of the eps seem to far fetched.

I don't like the Purgatory theory. For a TV Show like Lost, it's just too obvious and leans too heavily on religious themes. I'd like it better if they are part of some big experiment. I would like anything involving memory manipulation, conspiracy (gov or otherwise), or an epic face off between good and evil (even if it's just inside their heads).

Yes he did. I'm suspending my disbelief and if this be the Land of the Lost with Jurassic escapees then so be it. Could also be Love Boat shipwrecked on Fantasy Island.

Sorry but the "Purgatory" theory is out the window. There was an interview with one of the creators a couple of weeks ago and he was very clear when he said this wasn't the case. He said the characters were as real as you and me and that all answers to all questions would have a logical explanation.
