What size is it? An easy way to tell is to go into the folder where your vid is at, then put the mouse cursor over it for a few seconds and it should give you a few lines of information on it. One of them should say something like "Size: 20MB" or whatever the number is.
Here's YouTube's size limit information:
Quote: | How long/large can my video be?
There are two ways to upload your video: by using our Single File Uploader and the YouTube Uploader. Depending on which upload method you choose, your videos can be up to 100MB or up to 1GB.
Videos uploaded through YouTube's Single File Uploader have to be under the 100MB file size limit. The longer the video is, the more compression will be required to fit it into that size. For that reason, most videos on YouTube are under five minutes long and there is a 10-minute length limit for all videos.
You can compress your video using movie editors, like Windows MovieMaker or Apple iMovie. Programs like these allow you to edit your videos, add soundtracks, and compress file sizes.
If you choose to use the YouTube Uploader, your video can be up to 1GB in size. |
Now, what program are you using to make your vid? Also, what file format did you render it into? If it's .AVI, then that's probably what's making it too large. If you're using something like Sony Vegas or Windows Movie Maker, then you should have the option when you render your project to put it into .WMV, which should bring it under YouTube's size limit. |

Hm, that sounds like it's a project file not a rendered one (though I don't know why YouTube would complain about that being too large ). Anyway, you said you tried to render it and it didn't work? Can you tell me what happened? |

And it IS rendered into .WMV and YouTube is still saying it's too large? (Sorry, I'm having a blonde moment here, lol. ) I just can't imagine anything 320x240 .WMV showing up as too large for YouTube unless it's just an extremely long video or something. |

You know what? I'm hearing from other people that YouTube is giving them that same message, so it sounds like it's actually their fault! Hopefully they'll get themselves sorted out soon!
In the meanwhile, if you have a vid you're wanting to submit to LVI and don't want to wait on YouTube, you can use some place like zShare to host it temporarily, then add a YouTube link later. |

I had this exact problem all last night, with a vid that was 17 MB. I'm about to go try again tonight! Hope you can get yours up too! _________________ Heather |
