Contest: Have yourself a merry little Christmas…
Deadline: December 31st -- extended!

The Details

In this month's contest we'll have special premiere: Our very first LVI Christmas Contest!

As we all know, Christmas is the time of love and understanding but it's also the time for enjoying ourselves and having fun with our beloved ones. And this is what the contest will be all about: Having fun and being creative!

This month, we would like to see….. Christmas Stories!
Whether you re-tell a popular and world-famous Christmas tale, a Christmas tale from your home country or simply make up your very own story, it's the creativity that counts. The more unusual and original your vid is, the better. Here's the tricky part: You're only allowed to use footage from the show. It is okay to use opening titles, credits and audio clips from other shows and movies and, of course, you're more than welcome to use Christmas songs. The actual clips have to be from Lost though. (However, we will allow footage featuring the Lost actors in other roles. Just please keep the emphasis on Lost.

Since we would love to have all the entries before Christmas Day, we set the deadline quite a bit earlier this month: December 23
In order to make the deadline manageable for all of you, we recommend a video length of about 1 – 3 minutes.

Now there's only one thing left to say: Enjoy yourself and have fun!!

The Rules

Specific Contest Rules:

• -No video footage allowed from any other show or movie apart from opening titles, credits and audio clips.
• -If you want to use music in your vid, please use preferably any kind of music that has to do with Christmas (not a must though!)
• -The more creative, the better. Don't be afraid to take risks.
• -Running time should be no longer than 3 minutes. We suggest the 1 - 3 minute range.
• -When entering your video on the Submit page, you MUST enter "December 2007 contest submission" exactly in your vid's description.

General Contest Rules:

• -Contest submissions should be entered through the Submit page
• -All regular submissions rules apply.
• -Only one entry per vidder
• -Videos already submitted and RELEVANT can be submitted again, but we would rather see something fresh. (Please contact a CM if you wish to enter a previously-submitted video)
• -Please do not use Megaupload, Rapidshare or Yousendit to host your files.
• -Keep in mind that however you choose to host your video, it must be available for download at least until the end of the month. If we can not access your video at the time of judgment it will not be considered.
• -Have fun!

Yep, I think trailers should be fine (will check back with the others though).

I'll try to take part, too. I already have an idea (I wanna try "A Christmas Carol" aka Scrooge) and a song, too, I just hope I'll find enough Lost clips that'll work for this idea.

(BTW if trailers are aloud cause i'm going to sleep in a minute i will probably do either Surviving Christmas or Black Xmas)

I would really like to do like horror xmas aswell if that's allowed

ohh i got another idea. Charlie this may work for horror christmas. Someone should use the Wierd Al song "The Night Santa Went Crazy" i really dont know how it would work though.

Checked back with the others and yep, trailers are fine. Horror should be ok, too, as long as it's still about Christmas (--> "the more unusual and creative, the better"

Trey, I LOVE "The Night Santa Went Crazy" idea! I can totally picture it! I don't think I'll enter though. There are a bunch of other videos I have planed to do over the break.
