This video is SO awesome bret, this one made me completly sob like a baby, i absoulutly love it, the clips match so awesomely with the lyrics, its just my ULTIMATE favorite one out of the three!!! Your so awesome! Sucks that this one didnt get a council pick, but its still the best video ever! hahaha!

Ashley, thank you so much for what you said! I love you!!!  I know that this video is your favorite of mine, and I personally love it! Thank you so much for everything that you said.
Yes, I wish that this video had received a council pick, but hey that's how it goes... Everyone is entitled to their own opinion.
I do wish that more people would reply to this though and let me know your thoughts! I did make this for Lost fans, whether they are fans of Boone/Shannon or not.
Please respond if you've watched the video, anyone, and let me know your thoughts or criticisms! It would really help with future videos.

Okay, since you asked for it, then compliments and criticisms all in one package, mkay...?
This vid got me completely hooked on this song, and Damien Rice (I had NEVER heard it before this, too  woah!) And watchign it again, I love it a LOT more than the first time, after knowing the song so well.
My favourite part of the video is at the first quarter of the video. The beat is exactly where I want it to be, and plenty frequent with the beats, and then there's the occasional really meaningful clip that fits in perfectly, and that is just like throwing a gasoline can on the fire!  Made it so great! So at that time I'm thinking "WHY didn't I vote for this...?"  but then the rest of the song goes, as so does my precious beat! There's the occasional fade and whatnot, but even the lyric beats (when the singer intentionally says each word in one line or whatever) weren't used! I could have let that go (I mean, I do see your reasoning for not having the beats throughout, they're just a nice added touch) if there was a really wrap-around story, or way of organizing the clips so to the viewer the vid looks like it's divided according to the music, and even the not-so-smart can understand what's happening, and why certain clips are there to accentuate the lyrics and the beat. But instead, the clips were all over the place, from flashbacks, all parts of the episodes, etcetera, so it was really confusing. I DID pick up on the part about the chorus always starting with the "death" of either Boone or Shannon... loved that part. But again, it really died down with the rest of it! There was nothing else to grab the viewer's attention to follow the storyline (or even the plot if more beats and such were just used) which kinda nullifies any really awesome part at the beginning...
I think anyone who has heard of and loves that song will REALLY enjoy this video, but it's tough for anyone who doesn't. It lost my attention near the end, which is what lost my vote  Don't feel bad though, since it's really tough for an immense fan of one song to see the video from the eyes of someone who's not a fan  lol I'm pretty sure I had/have that same problem with a few of mine sigh....
Anyway, the first quarter was amazing. At least be proud of that |

You've heard it before Warren. lt was at the end of episode In Translation when Sun is walking on the beach in her bikini and Hurley is listening to it on his discman when the batteries die. LOL.
Anyway l really liked this vid Bret even though l'm not a Shoone fan myself. But you did a cool job on this and l just wanna say, Great Job.

| LOVE the editing on this one! It really flows with the song... on the heavy beats at the beginning of the song, and flowing more easily when the strings come in... A very nice piece of work! Great song, too. Damien Rice is a god. It adds a nice undertone of tension to the whole idea of Shannon and Boone. The "always wanting what you can't have thing." I loved it! |
