| I was thinking of doing something pretty meaningless, like use the song "Salt Shaker" and then use a bunch of film-editing tricks to do shakes and stuff..but now I have a planned vid with an actual purpose. LOL |

Nah, that sorta thing still counts as a "point" really. It just can't be a bunch of random clips in a montage is what I meant. Hell, I don't even know if that is true!

Heya Becca! Even though this contest is focusing on beat use, we still judge for over-all basic vid techniques. And an important part of a vid is for it to have a lot of thought put into it. Most of the time, that comes across as a definite story or theme. If a vidder puts just any old footage on the timeline, it's not going to have as much impact as if they put thought and care into it, even if they edit it to the beat.
Even the "funny random things" usually have a point of some sort. It IS possible to do a truly random vid and make it work, of course, but that's a lot harder to do and has more of a chance of leaving the viewer going "Huh?" rather than "Wow!"  |

Cool! Recently i have been trying to focus on the beat a lot more when making vods so this is a great contest. But the thing that i find hard is finding a good song with lots of good strong obvious beats that i can see (or should i say hear!)
Probably focus on a random vid of everyone with a bit of point to it but mailny just have a wide look on it all... just need a song if anyone has some in mind

When you say PG-13, you mean like on TV? So if say one rapper whose name I'm not going to mention says @ss, is that bad? Can I leave that in, I think he only says it once. Honestly, the man had no other word to use that would sound cool...LOL!
I have a good song, but he says the dirty a word...*snicker*. I dont want to take it out though. |

Pretty sure "Ass" (oooh rebelious I just said the full word ) is fine. Only swear-words and really rude sentences directed at people would really offend people, I think.
