New photography. I got way artistic on photoshop and I never planned to be. Not even setting up the shots (well except the blurry close-up cropping of the wing). The thing is, I found a beautiful dead monarch butterfly just sitting on the ground when my family was returning to the car from hiking, so I brought it home with me. I was planning to take pics and do all sorts of stuff with it, but it just sat around for days until finally today.
I was in a black and white mood for this.
I also took pictures of an alley, taking turns with my sis for the camera.
All Sin City-like, gahhhh!! _________________

Oh man, I LOVE those alley shots! They are sooooo Sin City, you're right! My favorite ones of the butterfly are the one with the bit of color in it (so pretty!) and the blurry wing one (so mysterious!).
Awesome work! |

You're awesome at this, DS! I especially like the second alleyway one and the butterfly that's coloured but has black and white around it. Great work! _________________

Whoo. Totally beautiful, DS. I like the colored butterfly against the black and white background ... very classy. I also love the last one of the building wall, for some reason. Cool work!
The title you chose for the thread reminds me of that Muse song "Butterflies and Hurricanes." _________________

Yeah, exactly. I was even going to do something to the effect of 'Butterflies and HurricanesDark Alleys', but apparently you can't do strikethough or color in the title. I decided to keep it non-cheesy.
I'm pretty sure these are the best I've ever done. Nothing in the past has turned out as good as this, because there's actually a subject in them and they seem to have a point in them (like the black and white butterfly could symbolize death........death of innocence.........whatever) _________________
