    The Details:

    Over the past several years, quite a few bands have been formed who make Lost-inspired songs (either by rewriting existing songs with lyrics that fit Lost or by writing completely original songs with lyrics inspired by the characters and events in Lost). This month, we'd like you to use one of those songs to create a humorous Lost vid!

    Any kind of humor is acceptable, whatever makes you laugh is fair game! Just remember to make use of a Lost-inspired song to create your vid! You're allowed to use audio from the show, if you'd like, though it's not required, of course.

    Here is a list of some of the bands/artists that we know about. If you know of any others, please comment and, if at all possible, give us a link to their site/myspace/whatever so we can add it to this list!

    Note: you can choose a song that's not on this list, this is just all of the bands/songs we could find info for. As long as the song falls under the idea of "Lost-inspired" (an existing song rewritten with lyrics that fit Lost or completely original songs with lyrics inspired by the characters and events in Lost), then feel free to use it! Just put in a claim for it by letting us know what song/artist you'll be using so we can add you to the list!

    If you need any help trying to get a hold of a song, let us know and we'll be glad to see what we can do to help. Several of the bands listed above provide their music for free. Be sure to check to see if they're offering downloads through myspace or their website. Also, Zamzar is a handy way to be able to take music off of Youtube.

    So make use of some of the awesome Lost-inspired songs out there and make us laugh!

    Be sure to read our new contest information for help with questions you may have!

    We'll be using a claiming system for this one, with 2 vidders allowed per song, so be sure to get your claim in as soon as you can!

    The Rules

    Specific Contest Rules:
    • - Make a humorous vid to a Lost-inspired song.
    • - You may use any footage that has aired on Lost, so one character, several characters, ships, on Island footage, off Island footage, flashforwards, flashbacks, flashsideways, etc. is all fair game! Also bloopers and deleted scenes, etc. are allowed.
    • - Please do not use footage of the Lost actors in other shows/movies for this contest. We'd like only Lost footage for this one, thanks!
    • - No trailers, please, we want to see the full vid. Also, no crossovers with other shows or OCs (original characters), we want this to be just about the Losties whom we already know and love!
    • - Running time should be no longer than 5 minutes. We suggest the 3 - 5 minute range.
    • -The more creative, the better. Don't be afraid to take risks.
    • -When entering your video on the Submit page, you MUST enter "April 2010 contest submission" exactly in your vid's description.

    General Contest Rules:

    • -Contest submissions should be entered through the Submit page.
    • -All regular submissions rules apply.
    • -Only one entry per vidder.
    • -Videos already submitted and RELEVANT can be submitted again, but we would rather see something fresh. (Please contact a CM if you wish to enter a previously-submitted video)
    • -Please do not use Megaupload, Rapidshare or Yousendit as your only link to host your files.
    • -Keep in mind that however you choose to host your video, it must be available for viewing at least until the end of the contest. If we can not access your video at the time of judgment it will not be considered.
    • -Have fun!
